Dynamic Interaction Skills not only provide effective and efficient interventions, but also provides us the opportunity to allow the most positive outcomes possible.

In this program, we will discuss the concepts and skills that are involved in effective interactions. We will discuss increasing your ability to shed useless conflict patterns and use your free will to choose your responses dependent on your values, logic, intuition, and your sense of the situation.
 
To best accomplish these goals you must develop insight, internalize these insights, and integrate this learning into your normal behavior.

If you apply these concepts and skills you'll have more successful interactions and interventions in the future.

   

What are Dynamic Interaction Skills?

Dynamic Interaction Skills allow us to behave with caring, support, and respect. These interactions yields results that are efficient, safe, and as positive as possible for all involved. Dynamic Interaction Skills training has been used, published, and proven effective for decades.

Understand that being caring, supportive, and respectful does not mean being mushy, soft, or weak. The idea is to be assertive without being aggressive or passive. To be strong without being violent. To be non-judgmental without being indecisive, or unable solve problems.

A healthy relationship is defined in this program as two or more independent individuals choosing to spend time together (neither one has to) and interacting with mutual respect because each is assertive and each is considerate. These two qualities work together and usually balance with each other. If I do not assert myself, the people I interact with will tend to be less considerate.

For more than thirty years I’ve been teaching and practicing dynamic interaction skills both in my private practice and as a clinical psychologist.
